It’s probably a good thing that the British don’t have any say in the U.S. presidential election—otherwise Mitt Romney would be beans on toast by now.  Over in the UK on what’s supposed to be the easy first stop on a brief world tour, the Republican nominee has already drawn the ire of America’s closest ally with his comments on the London Olympic Games.  Of course, Romney knows a thing or two about organizing Olympics himself, having overseen the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City.  But he clearly has a ways to go in terms of foreign policy, with his recent kerfuffle leading British newspaper The Guardian to dig up this little chestnut from a book he wrote in 2010:
