Not-so-secret Blood Ceremony gig this Saturday

Still bummed that Ghost won’t be making the trek to Toronto this Friday due to visa issues?  Well, your weekend has just been rescued by their one-time European tour-mates, as Blood Ceremony has just announced a low-key loft gig on Saturday before they leave for another jaunt across the old continent.  What’s more, they promise to play “tons of psych, krautrock, prog, Brit-folk and hard rock between sets,” so it will be kinda like listening to Ghost, I suppose, minus the masks and the overt Satanism.

The host venue is called Double Double Land, and it’s down an alley and on top of La Rosa’s Bakery on Augusta Ave in Kensington Market.  Until yesterday, I didn’t know this place even existed.  Kensington being home to some colourful venues like The Boat and The Rearview Mirror, I’m sure this isn’t your typical space, either.  Who knows, you might even meet a real punk rocker, or a guy selling beer off the back of a bicycle.  Stranger sights have been seen in that part of town…

Should also mention that this is a charitable affair, with all proceeds going towards ex-Lost ‘n Found Records owner George Dim, who is suffering from MS.  Cost is 10 dollars at the door.  Cya there!

Blood Ceremony, No No Zero @ Double Double Land, 209 Augusta Ave, Saturday, October 1st.  Doors @ 9.  $10.
