In what has to be the saddest news I’ve seen all day, the CBC is reporting that a global bacon shortage is not only imminent, but inevitable.  It seems that the skyrocketing price of corn has made it less profitable for pig farmers to produce pork products, and while they look to other ways to make a living, the price of pork could potentially double by the end of next year, according to Britain’s National Pig Association.  I didn’t know pigs shot hoops in the UK, but anyways, this is clearly a serious issue.  Mind you, there are alternatives to pork-based breakfast products…

…But judging by the amount of thumbs-down on the comment above, I take it people don’t like the taste of turkey bacon too much.
