This just in: college students drink a lot. They also spend a disproportionate amount on booze compared to other comestibles, meaning that they tend to drink on empty stomachs. Some researcher at Simon Fraser actually took the time to study a buncha students at York (since when was York a party school, anyways?) for four months in order to come to this conclusion. Her solution? “I think it’s really important university and college administrators start thinking about these two behaviours together and realize that together they create a much more serious problem and start educating the students about it and making it clear that these behaviours can coincide and what they should be doing to try and prevent that in their own lives.” Yeah, okay. Actually, I think I like this guy’s idea better:
Mind you, I’d only be qualified to teach the first part of said lesson. As some less-than-famous comedian once said, I’ve tried everything to lose weight—except for diet and exercise.
