I gotta say, the cast of Storage Wars Texas is fulla comedians from what I’ve seen so far. In fact, it might even been more entertaining than the original, which has pretty much turned into one big storage auction flame war. And while the cast members of the original program actively promote their business interests, particularly on Twitter, it’s hard to find any information online about their personal lives. Not so for Moe Prigoff, the colourful star of the new show.
On last week’s episode, I laughed at his references to wood (“Hey Beavis, this guy loves wood!”), was somewhat surprised when he mentioned his wife (coulda sworn Captain Fabulous was on the other team), and was equally intrigued when he pulled out a pair of surgical gloves as a part of his “trust me, I’m a doctor” routine. Well, I can verify that the last part is true, the dude’s a podiatric surgeon in Dallas. Apparently, he’s been in practice for 45 years(!) and speaks fluent Hebrew–and Spanish too, according to this website.
Captain Fabulous is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and was the team podiatrist for the Dallas Blackhawks (hockey) and Dallas Chaparels (basketball) as well as the SMU female basketball team. You can read his full bio here. Suffice to say he knows his feet, although someone on Rate MDs gave him a one-star review–mind you, I can’t get the page to load… He’s also on Facebook–or at least his antique store is. Did you know that for the bitchin’ low price of 425 dollars, you can get this bronze art deco planter from his shop? Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. I mean, doesn’t it just look fabulous?
(Okay, I’ll admit it. I have no idea what this thing is.)
